Taking Care of Your Future

The Police Credit Union awards five $1000 scholarships yearly to 2nd year students for their fall sememster.

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • A total of five (5) Credit Union scholarships will be provided annually.
  • Each successful student will be granted $1000 towards their 2nd year fall semester.
  • Scholarships are for students that have been accepted at an accredited post-secondary institution (University or College) for their second (2nd) year on a full time basis.
  • Students cannot receive more than one scholarship from the Police Credit Union throughout their educational career.
  • Scholarship submissions will be required no later than 5:00 pm, June 7th of each year that these scholarships are offered.
  • A decision on the successful applicants will be made by a committee appointed by the Police Credit Union in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
  • A decision will be made no later than July 12th each calendar year.
  • Applicants who receive a scholarship will also be required to submit or have a digital image of them captured by authorized staff of the Police Credit Union for use on the Police Credit Union’s website and in newsletters along with their name.
 

CRITERIA FOR AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS

CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP
Parent or grandparent of student must be a member in good standing at the Police Credit Union.

TRANSCRIPT OF MARKS
Candidates must provide confirmation of 1st year completion in a post-secondary institution.  

PROOF OF ENROLLMENT
All candidates must provide confirmation of enrollment, in a 2nd year, accredited institution for study on a full time basis.

ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS OR COURSES OF STUDY
Candidates must confirm enrollment in any recognized accredited postsecondary institution for study on a full-time basis.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a number of factors that may include academic achievement, community involvement and leadership displayed. The student must submit an essay (maximum 1,000 words) describing why they have chosen this particular field of study.

Personal information (other than the information mentioned above) of all applicants will be kept strictly confidential.

 

Get Your Student Line of Credit

There's more than one way to get access to money to help with your tuition, books, and living expenses.  The Police Credit Union can assist you in your post secondary eduction with a Student Line of Credit.

Access up to $10,000 per year, up to a maximum of $40,000 over four years of study with interest only payments while you are in school. 

Student Line of Credit will require a co-signer. Some conditions apply.
